What is a bodyguard?
The term bodyguard is widely used but the professional standard in the United Kingdom is the SIA-licensed close protection officer (CPO). A close protection officer has completed specialist training, holds a valid SIA Close Protection licence and is subject to criminal record checks and ongoing regulatory oversight by the Security Industry Authority.
A professional close protection officer does not simply accompany a client. They conduct advance reconnaissance of venues and routes, manage access control, coordinate with other security personnel and respond to threats in real time, providing a discreet but effective protective layer around the principal.
We only deploy SIA-licensed officers. Every operative has been through BS 7858 pre-employment screening and is fully insured. We sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before any operational detail is exchanged.
