Our Credentials

SIA Licensing

Every deployed officer holds a valid Security Industry Authority licence for their role. Licence numbers are supplied on request and verifiable on the SIA public register.

BS 7858 Vetting

Screening to the British Standard for security personnel: identity, right to work, employment history, financial probity and criminal record disclosure appropriate to the role.

Written Assignment Documents

Every assignment is planned from a written risk assessment, with a method statement where a venue requires one and a written debrief afterwards.

Confidentiality & UK GDPR

Client data is processed under UK GDPR on a need-to-know basis. Every officer signs a confidentiality agreement; assignments are never disclosed or used in marketing.

How to Verify a Security Provider

Ask for the SIA licence number of every officer who will be deployed and check it on the SIA public register — the register confirms the licence type, its expiry date and whether it is active. A provider that cannot supply licence numbers in advance should not be engaged.

Ask for a certificate of public liability insurance showing the insurer, the level of cover and the policy expiry date. Venues, hotels and corporate premises teams almost always require this before allowing security personnel to operate on site.

Ask how personnel are screened. BS 7858 is the British Standard for security screening and covers identity, right to work, employment history and criminal record disclosure. Confirm that vetting is completed before deployment rather than in progress.

Finally, ask for the written risk assessment. A provider that deploys without one is guessing at the threat, and any incident that follows will be harder to defend to your insurers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is VIP Protection Services insured?

Insurance documents are discussed directly with clients, venues and procurement teams during onboarding, before any assignment begins. Ask us for the paperwork your organisation needs and we will confirm what can be supplied in writing.

Are your officers SIA licensed?

Every officer we deploy holds a current Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence appropriate to their role — Close Protection, Door Supervision or Security Guarding. Licence numbers can be supplied on request and checked on the SIA public register.

What vetting do your officers go through?

Officers are screened to BS 7858 standards, covering identity verification, right to work, employment history, financial probity checks and criminal record disclosure appropriate to the role.

Can you provide documentation for our procurement process?

Yes. We routinely supply insurance certificates, SIA licence details, BS 7858 vetting confirmation, risk assessments, method statements and GDPR/data-handling documentation for corporate and venue onboarding.

How do you handle client data and confidentiality?

Client information is handled under UK GDPR on a need-to-know basis, and every officer signs a confidentiality agreement. Details of an assignment are never disclosed, published or used for marketing.

Do you carry out health and safety planning for assignments?

Yes. Each assignment is supported by a written risk assessment and, where the venue or client requires it, a method statement covering deployment, communications, emergency procedures and escalation routes.
